Oh if you think the 2IS is cheap you haven't sat in a 2013 ES. I mean the interior is s*&t. The plastic is so ridiculous I thought I was a in a regular Avalon for a second.

Actually, I had a '13 ES loaner last week for an oil change. It was no better/worse than the IS (Lexus pretty much uses the same parts bins). But the real standout was the new nav input system (with haptic feedback). I will probably buy a new IS just to get that.

I guess I haven't done justice to the thread. Need to explain in detail like the others here.

Love :

1) the exterior and interior styling.
2) the fuel efficient engine ( It's really amazing for a 6 cylinder 230 Hp engine )
3) engine performance ( very good torque , pick up is amazing )
4) the air condition
5) reliability
6) Mark Levinson Music system
7) Rear Camera
8) Navigation unit ( Functionality , interface , ease of use ,clarity are just amazing )
9) Super refined engine.
10) Very nice wiper blades.
11) Comfortable and beautiful Leather seats with heating and cooling fans
12) Very good steering wheel.

Hate:

1) Wind noise and tire noise creeping in the cabin( Should this even happen in a Lexus ? )
2) Rear seats are cramped for space
3) No fully rear folding seats.
4) Brake dust ( No dustless offered here under warranty )
5) Foot brake ( what's wrong with a hand brake ? )
6) Very high price
7) Expensive maintenance (at dealership).
8) Difficult to mod the ECU ,add turbo's.

I had it as a loaner for a whole weekend myself. Did you feel the plastic near the shift ****? It was pretty bad, you should look at it again. Mines was the hybrid, so that may be the reason.

From the few gallery pics I saw, there does seem to be a difference between 300h and 350 interiors. So that may account. Again, interior seemed fine, nothing any cheaper than IS.

Its a Lexus
Factory Nav is fairly decent
The gauges on start-up
Back up camera
Dashboard in general with all the buttons
Exterior styling
Mods are easy to find
Stock dual exhaust
Puddle lights
Lexus key fob
Quality
Low maintnance cost
Projector headlights (xenon or not)
AWD
Bluetooth

Dislikes:
(I own a 2006 model)
AWD only available for the is250 with auto trans
Rear leg-room
Lack of power
Lack of power upgrades
Cant use the Nav while in motion
Voice Controls are like foreign language lol
Rear bumper deflectors are ugly
De-badging the car leaves holes
No remote start
Delayed paddle shifters
Rattles in the car

All in all this car is great and I love it...just minor details here and there I would change

Actually I believe you can ask the dealer to bring in a manual for you. The problem is, you have to wait something like 90 days.

^ i think he meant manual transmission as a factory option for the IS350, because there isn't one.

The only thing I don't like so far is the HID output. My old mazda 3 with a PNP kit in halogen projectors had better intensity and cutoff

Retrofitting projectors into the OEM housing was my 2nd favorite mod on my old Accord. With the IS, its more of a "what else can I do to the car" mod for me.
