Default Plastidip + Dupli Clear Coat

I still need to save up for new rims. So in the meantime I just want to know if I were to plastidip the stock rims on my car and add a few coats on dupli clear coat would it still be easy to peel off in the future or will it be permanent? I know there is a glossifier plastidip, but it doesn't really give the shine I want. So would it be easy to remove without any damage if I plastidip my rims then coat is a few times with Dupli Clear Coat?

Thanks.

Plastidip is easy to remove on rims, but honestly it's just annoying to take it off on anything cause its just tedious, I personally wouldn't 'mod' your rims with plastidip.

I have a friend that put them on his Z and took him forever to peel it off each wheel and it didn't even look good. Keep it classy bro, you got a lexus.

Plastidip is removable, but like Deegee said, it can be very annoying.

Ive seen wheels plastidipped black before and they dont really look too good. Try white plastidip

I tired plasti dip and its not really worth it. It scratches up very easily! Doesn't look as nice in person either.

Well this is only going to be a temporary thing either way, maybe about just for a year since I don't want to get new rims in the winter. I know plastidip is general isn't the easiest thing to remove but my main question really is would it be removed the same way with clean coat over top of it?

unless u use the big machine, it's very "uneven" and the colour/tone is not uniform so doesn't look good
and since you're leaving it on for a longer period of time, it will settle in with the sun and heat, and will be BIG PITA to remove

The answer to your question is yes. It will come off. But, The plastidip will not come off as easily as if you were to just plastidip. I saw a video of the "Dip Your Car" guy doing it on YouTube.

If you use goof off or goo gone on plastidip... it comes off extremely easy (though it can be a little bit messy).

Not sure about putting a duplicolor clear coat on plastidip. I've seen some people who tried that and the two didn't bond well together. Plastidip makes a glossifier that may get the job done.

I would go with either the glossifier or paint, like you said OP, it's only temporary. The plasti dip is only tedious if your coats on the wheel are uneven or just not enough. A thick coat, say a can a wheel, which is what we did for my cousins G wheels. It was very simple peeling it off , as long as you go slow and having a thick layer helped a lot. We didn't go with the paint route, but I have a buddy who plasti dipped his emblems and used clear paint to glossify the emblems afterwards. No problems this far and it's been almost a year.
