DGNY2009, Nice pic, what a magnificent tree! Makes an awesome backdrop to your clean blanc ride. It's interesting how the tint will change depending on the light hitting it. I suppose, 35% will look black at night on a freeway. Probably okay for privacy.

This is what the car comes with the factory with.

Front: 78%
Sides/Back: 70%
Sunroof: 20%

Depending on what tint you put in, you need to calculate it the with factory window's tint to see if you are within the limit.

In this case putting a 35% is illegal. 70 * 0.35 (tint % you want to use) = 24.5% (VLT) +/- about 5 tolerance, so you need to a lighter tint; More like 50% to be at the 35% VLT to be legal for your area.

You can go darker but it's at your own risk if the cops like to pull you over for a ticket or not. Best advise is that you don't want to be tinted such that you are considered a target and high profile.
------------------------

On my car, I have F1 Pinnacle 35% (39% as per exact spec) front and 40% (43% as per exact spec) rear. I also have Air Blue 80% (78%) front tint front windshield, but no one can tell (by glimpsing it unless it's side by with with the same car with no tint) it's tinted because it looks exactly like the factory window.

I have 5% on my truck and cops can pull you over for just tint. I was going speed limit and not driving reckless.

I don't understand the reason for creating this thread... At minimum I'd post pics of your car.
Perhaps a thread for those that that want to post future predictions of purchases is what some of you guys need.

Good luck with the tints in what ever shade you pick and make sure you post pics in this thread.
I have the same setup that you do, except I did 50% on the front windshield also. Front windshield tint makes a huge difference, and it darkens everything else too. I also have a 5% strip, but I primarily use that to hide my radar detector

So far I've been pulled over 2 times at night, but wasn't ticketed for tint. I did get caught at a traffic stop and was ticketed only for the windshield tint though. Just realize if you have tint you're probably gonna get pulled over if you're driving around at 2am depending where you are. Smart thing to do is if you are stopped to just roll all your windows down (which i forgot to do during the stop).

What he said! I did 35% all around (legal in NC) and didn't like it. Had my guy do my front windshield 50% and it made a HUGE difference. It's only 50%, but cuts half the light coming in the largest window in the car. When I'm driving through a parking lot, people can hardly see who is behind the wheel. The flip side is that I roll one front window down and it looks totally legal. Not to mention that if they meter your doors you will be legal.

That could be just as much as a give away as well that the driver is hiding an illegal tint if the officer realizes it and orders the windows to be rolled up.

In BC, Canada drivers who got pulled over have tried to do that but that doesn't work. Note, front tints is illegal there. Funny also how the some drivers also try to have their windows rolled down in odd conditions to avoid getting caught or pulled over; unfortunately that does not work either since they know that trick.

I think i may have to do this. I like my light tint most of the time but i always felt a good 75-50 on the front would help make it look a bit darker.... any other photos? for the OP of course
