Is ANYONE here familiar with the Headunit Software Update that is allegedly available for the 2010+ Navi equipped IS'es? This should be COMPLETELY separate of the "map update" that lexus offers.

Vaistech is telling me I need this update in order to have proper functionality for my ivic-6d, but they are unable to provide me with any helpful information on what to ask the dealer for. Again, I am NOT looking for a maps update - just an ECU/Software update for the navigation system. Has ANYONE had this done, or does anyone have a TSB/etc regarding information on it? It supposedly was released to increase ipod compatability/functionality on the 2010+ units.

I don't think I've ever seen Lexus do a navigation software update separate of the map update. They usually go hand in hand.

I have had the same impression, yet various people including vaistech ASSURE me that it's a separate update.
I just cant find a way to get the dealer to actually do it...
