Default Car port worth it??

So I just pick up me an 2012 IS 350. Now i am considering renting a car port here at my apartment. They want $40 for it. My question is, since this is my daily driver would a car port do me any good?

Oh and I stay in Texas

Are there trees or powerlines near your usual parking spot? I'd pay $40/mo to cover my car from bird droppings and pollen.

I live in Houston, I say it's worth it. If not, buy some really good tint and be religious about your windshield sun screen, the dashes can take a beating!

Both of you have good points. No power lines or trees near me. But dfw is known to have the occasional hail storm. Since i spent 35k i guess 40 more a month would be worth it. I think I will go ahead and add it.

I'd say its worth it. $40 equates to a little over a dollar a day. Better than parking it on the street or in a parking stall with no overhead cover.

Definitely worth it! It will provide good enough protection during harsh weather. Those Texas hail storms can get pretty crazy. Plus for those super hot Texas summers, you wont have the sun directly beating down on your car all day long.

After a freak hailstorm here in Texas, I would say definitely worth it.

It will also keep the dust, pollen collecting dew off and frost depending how far south you are.

I think it depends on what type of carport, is it a bolted down one to concrete or is it a portable one that can just be set-up. In case you have heavy winds such as 40-50 mph winds it wont stand unless its a bolted down one. If so I say its worth it as it will protect your car from bird dropping and mostly different weather elements. It wont protect against dust as the wind weather it be light will still blow from underneath since it's not enclosed. Hope this helps, and yes I have had a carport.

My first house didn't have a garage.I had a car port installed.Aluminum (awning type) carport off the side of the house.
No garage but much better than nothing.
