Default Prepainted sewell GFX side ore repaint one

This might be a dumb question but I'd like to see what people prefer.

Would you pay 300 bucks for a painted GFX side or buy one that's different color and have it repainted?

I don't know how much it'd cost to repaint, so it may or may not be worth it. Quality wise, what is better or what would you do?

I'd rather buy the one that comes my color. Painting can sometimes have orange peel or chip off. It'll probably cost $150-$200 to paint.

It depends on price IMO.

Just a heads up, the GFX sides are $60 for certain colors on Sewell!

yea but the 65 bucks shipping kind of make it not too great of a deal. I can get them locally for about 90-100 but in a different color.

Might have to give up on getting the sideskirt for now and wait for one to pop up in the classified section.

My advice: Get a quote on paint first.

trust me, once you have them on it is a big difference especially if you have a front lip

I bought the SGM sides for my car. $60 was a steal because you'd be paying the shipping regardless.

I would gladly pay $65 for shipping.... but I'm sending it to Australia so it gets pretty expensive pretty quickly. Although some of it is being absorbed as I got a few things from them to spread the cost of shipping around.(I'm very jealous of you guys in the states as you have so much more options to modding your IS than we do)

It doesn't help that it is generally classified as oversize due to the length which is why your shipping gets a bit expensive.

I probably should have thought about it first but I was impulsive. Oh well.

Getting a bit off topic here but I would purchase it pre-painted to save the hassle of having to get it colour matched/painted when I get it. In saying that, I wonder why there is such a massive difference in pricing for different colours.

Yeah, I got the side skirts from Sewell too when they dropped the price. It's hard to tell in the photos of your car (from some angles) that you got them but in person, you can see that they flare out a little more than the stock side skirts. I wouldn't have bought them unless they were at a good price.

i think i'm going to get the side and try to find a good place to repaint. That means putting the rear sway and fsport grille on hold.
