Im no expert with engine names, but are you trying to swap a 350 engine into your 250?

I think somehere here as done it but its will cost you more than trading in your car for a 350.

I don't think it's that easy... Doesn't the 350 also have a slightly different transmission?

A brandnew IS250 costs us 120,000 USD here, in Thailand.

No IS350 available through the official Lexus dealers. Unless you want to pay around 150,000 - 170,000 USD to import a new IS350 from Japan.

We have to buy a used or wrecked IS350, half-cut it in Japan and then import it. Then we transfer engine, wiring and other parts into our IS250. This is due to a regulation that a used car is not allowed to import into the kingdom unless you have a special permission such as ambassadors or diplomatic missions or UN officials.

it's not the actual price of the car.....it's the tax that makes the total price so extreme if I'm not mistaken.

Obviously it is taxes, tariffs, penalties, fees, protectionism, etc. Crazy either way.
