anyone know how to fix curb damage on a wheel
My wife came home yesterday and told me show had damaged one of her wheels. She has a 07 G35 and i have to say it has some of the nicest factory wheels. i will post a pic of the damage later tonight but i know some of you sand and fix them yourself. I have a local wheel repair shop that can fix it for $100 but if i can do it myself for a lot cheaper, that's a no brainer.

im assuming the wheels are not polished if she has the stock rays ( gunmental gray?) the paint, prep material and time is not worth it imo. I fix a polished lip before....let me tell you that I will let the professional do it next time...
But if you are interested:
1. dremel with a grinder bit / Neumatic sander with heavy grit - you will need to get all the way down where the gash is not longer present
2. Bondo if you cant get it smooth with the grinder
3. Ton of sanding with various sanding blocks ( the type that is not rigid to confrom to the shape of the bend of the wheel.
4. prime / paint / clear
This is a high level - There is a lot of time involved especially if you dont have the right tools present. I did mine by hand, it sucked
