Anyone regret buying IS x50
#18
Good morning CL,
After talking with a few friends about their vehicles performance over the years and reliability. The question was approached to me by my cousin...Do I regret buying the Lexus IS 350. I paused for only a few seconds and my answer was at the time a sure NO! Its treated me well, both of them, and I haven't had any issues I didn't expect I would at this time with how old they are. THEN, a few days later my NAV touch screen stopped working. Did what everyone else did, checked with Lexus stealership and priced $2000. And resulted with a loud NO! Why pay $2,000 when the same issue will most likely happen again in 5 more years. So we will try the DIY other members posted. I still say I don't regret the purchase...but I might have felt different if the DIY NAV fix didn't only cost $50.
Sooo it left me thinking? How do my fellow CL member feel about this? Do you regret buying/leasing the 2nd Gen IS? If so why? And what model do you have 250/350/awd etc.
Thanks in advance! P.S - Doing the NAV fix this weekend with the crew at our shop. After Daytona BIKE WEEK of course!

-I went to this forum and checked for any mechanical or electronic issues with certain models and ended up getting a low mileage 07 IS250 without Navigation. No rattles. No carbon issue. I haven't had any issues with my IS250. So NO. I don't regret buying my IS.
- I know 1 particular member on this forum that made numerous rants about buying his ISx50. This member did not do his research about buying a 2IS before purchasing or before his parents purchased it for him/her.

No regrets on buying the car, it was mainly to use for the winter since my sister owns one as well and she likes it a lot. Great winter car with the awd.. the bad part is that the modification bug is nibbling at me on this car also.. so i guess I will keep this car for a few more years..

Wow, seems like everyone actually really enjoys the 2nd Gen IS. That's awesome! It says alot for those who had accidents in the 2nd Gen and went right back out to buy another one. I agree, doing your research before buying a car is crucial!

My IS350 is the first car I've owned. Had some problems here and there but it was all covered under warranty. Only if I knew about TSIB's before my warranty ended I would have got some other things fixed but it doesn't bother me. It's been a great car overall and I get lots of compliments from people on the road or in my school parking lot. Only "regrets" I have is that I bought a car that doesn't have much aftermarket parts for performance and I could really use AWD here in Chicago. Although I'm getting a second car in the near future, either an Acura TL SH-AWD or BMW 335xi, I'm definitely going to be keeping my IS.
