Recirculate button
Anyone know how to make the recirculate button not change by default each time I start the car?

It's part of the Lexus Personalized options. Bring it to the dealership and they can change it for since it's one of the Techstream options.

I don't get this setting, why would lexus want it to automatically default to a setting and not just remember what you had set it to last?

It's not just Lexus, Toyota has it too like this. I'm not sure about Scion but I believe it does as well.

Have a look at this. As mentioned earlier it's part of the LPS setting.

When the air conditioner is ON or in the AUTO mode, the vehicle can be programmed for the following:
- To automatically switch between the recirculation mode and fresh air mode as necessary to meet the temperature requirements set. (Standard)
- When the climate control is turned on, the user must manually select the desired mode, recirculation or fresh air mode. <-- This is what you want.
You will find the answer you are looking for. I already have mine changed so it is operating the the way I want it to.

There is also other options you can have adjusted as well.

I may be wrong, but I was reading the pdf you posted and it says the service is only free of charge within the 30 day/1000 mile service?

I don't think they really enforce that. I had mine done passed that and they just did it.
Maybe it was dependent on the dealership but you could give them a call and ask because changing the setting is pretty quick.

Okay thanks, I'll give it a try. I didn't realize there were so many ways of customizing things, definitely interesting.

Is the only way to bring it to the dealer? Anyone know how to DIY it at home? I would have to drive close to 40 miles to the closest dealer.
