Default Felt Strip scratching window (nontinted)

Hey all,

Just noticed I have some deep scratches likely due to the felt stripe. I'm looking at it and it's pretty clean. It's pretty tight, so I can't really probe it or glide something across it to fish out for stuff.

This is only to my rear driver side window. No tints! Never took the panels off.

Will Lexus replace the strip for me?

Thanks!

I had the same problem, it's the dirt trapped in the weatherstrip. Lower your window all the way down and use a credit car covered with a rug to clean the weatherstrip.

I noticed the same yesterday when I got my windows tinted. The front driver window has them and if you rub your finger nail across it you feel it. Wonder if it could be replaced thru warranty?

I hade these scratches on the driver side window on my last IS. Even I keep everything clean it scratchs. Very annoying, specially in a sunny day. I checked out the cars at the dealership and almost all their used IS and IS-F have the same scratches on the driver side window. Must be a design flaw.

+1 for cleaning the dirt entrapped in the felt.
some people have actually applied a lubricant to the felt thinking that would help/fix it
but all that does is allow even more dirt to become entrapped

Scratched driver side over hear. You could hear some screeching friction when the window was going up and down so I cleaned the felt and it's fine. Scratches won't be going anywhere anytime soon though
