The Oil Catch Can Experiment
#62
If I didn't go to Lexus themselves and with the VIN verify that the piston/ring TSB was done, I wouldn't believe it was done.
Behind the radiator- for the TS bolt-on can setup.
Can someone please post clearly the mounting locations of the can setups. I would greatly appreciate it!

TSB was "the big one", the pistons and rings, like said in the video. A buddy at work recently had the TSB done on his as well, and talking with a mechanic (not sure how valid this is of course, take with a huge grain of salt), the mech said Lexus is turning this into a full blown recall in a few weeks. We'll see how true that is I guess.

Just discovered this thread, and now i'm thinking about installing the catch can too. I just had the big TSB done and I'm at 60K miles on my 09 is250 AWD. I noticed this is a few months old, anyone want to chime in on how these cans are working? is it just alot of oil when you first installed it? maybe from the new TSB install itselft, or does the oil continue to accumulate? i'm looking at the Token Solutions can, which is about $140 on their site. is it worth it? any input would be appreciated.

Contributing to the body of "evidence" here for the benefit of others who might be considering this. I installed my catch can approx 9 months and 3,500 miles ago. I assume this is approx 1/4 annual mileage for the average year round driver? Just drained it for the first time today. Don't know how much this equates to but you can see from the pic it was collected into a 660mL jar and filled a bit of the bottom. Looks just like spent engine oil. Hope this helps.
