Default Brake question

Besides brake pad and rotors, Sewell lists these Brake fit kit and shim. Do u change them when u change the brakes?

honestly i just re-use the old ones...i refuse to pay that for shims...

It is recommended, but not 100% necessary. I re-used mine.

Thank you all for replies. I actually already replaced my brakes but just wanted some opinions to see if I should get those "optionals" replaced as well next time.
