Default Is this normal?RPM

I have a 2007 is250 and everytime when i push on the brakes or when im approaching a stop light my rpm goes down then goes back up then down again. does this make sense? Say im at 2.5 rpm when the car stops my rpm goes down to 1rpm then goes up 1.5rpm for a split second then goes back down. Is this normal?

That sounds like the car is downshifting, which is normal. If you want to see the gears it shifts through, you can click the DISP button on the steering wheel till you see the Gear Position and watch the car downshift from whatever gear you're in to first gear when coming to a stop.

Completely normal. Remember the 2IS has 6 gears and they change between 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th alot in city driving.
