Hey guys,
New to the forum and the lexus scene. I was a honda head for a long time but I began to out grow then and found them boring. I love stance cars and thats what i plan on doing with this car while still keeping daily driver-ness (if thats a word). My previous cars pics are below, I was a 4 door w h o r e you can say. I also am a moto GP head, I have a bike as well CBR 954rr
My last car that I just sold this past monday
My car before when the modding bug bit me
My current Bike
As you can tell, I like things real clean and simple, and the IS is one of my favorite cars. My car gets delivered tomorrow morning so im very exited to get started
I do have one question though, I just looked at the car fax and saw that the car is a California car and i immediately got scared because cali is crazy with their smog emissions. Its like Cali Cars, and then the rest of the country. Is there something I should be worried about when modding this California born car

Welcome, there is not much difference these days in cali cars. You will find that engine modding on a Lexus is very limited and is more for looks than real HP unless you have lots of money.

A Cali car is the same as a NY car its just that modding the performance here is very very limited, you shouldn't worry about it, people from CA should worry about performance modding since smog has to be passed every 2 years to renew registration.

Looks is all I really want minus a few performance mods like exhaust and what not. I was interested in a supercharger but I realized there wasn't much support for it. I also picked up a 2jz motor a few months back to do a project but it's just sitting in the shop right now waiting for a rebuild.
Looks like the mods are only going to be only for show now

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you're going to run into issues if you plan on slamming your IS250 AWD model. Lowering an AWD model under 25 inches ground to fender poses a risk to your CV boots and axles. It's a risk some people take, but be warned that there are numerous cases where people have had to replace CV boots and sometimes axles. Based on the looks of your previous cars, 25 inches ground to fender probably won't satisfy you. I wrongfully assumed you were getting a RWD model since you mentioned the car was from California...
