Progress...
Starting on the first head light today. That was my plan to perfect one side and then repeat for the other.
I noticed that the TL projectors sat almost at the same height as the IS's. The only issue is getting ride of the AFS motor. I realized now that it will not be possible to have AFS. Haha.. dreams.
Anyhow, I almost got it.

I see why we've never seen a TL retro before. It is extremely difficult to make them fit in the bracket. I'm having a lot of trouble myself. Had to stop and go to school. But tomorrow wil be another day. Have to space them further forward to fit through the OEM chrome face. Just haven't figure out how yet.

Just for laughs and snickers, I paired the TL front half and lens with a 2IS bowl and fired it up... looked worse than stock IS. Idea.. scrapped.
Tomorrow There will be more mounting.

Looks like I'm going to have to go the TSX route. I've cut as much as I am willing to do to the bracket. Still will not sit back far enough to not affect the front cover. *sigh*... they really are big.
I want to retain auto leveling, so I cannot have it hit the face-shield-chrome-cover-thing. That would be bad.
TSX it is..
I also noticed that AFS equipped headlights have a slightly different bracket than the non-afs.

The TLs would require so much cutting that you are losing a lot of structural integrity of the bracket. Not something I want to deal with. I have a really nice set of TSX's right now, with perfect bowls. No defects. Have to make this work now. We did side by side comparison in a garage, and although TLs' have much better light distribution, TSXs' are pretty wide as well. Nothing to scoff at.

Props for the effort man. I was really hoping you were able to figure it out but I'm also not surprised that these massive projectors are next to impossible to retrofit in our headlights. Our headlights are the first, and of only that I know of, to use side inserted bulbs. With tight spaces like that, retrofitting just isn't worth is IMO because I don't like the idea of cutting a big hole behind the housing to clear the bulbs. All 5 of my past retrofits were done by cutting halogen reflector bowls and that's a much easier method to custom mount projectors. Retrofitting a projector headlight with a different projector is at a more difficult level in itself.
You could also trim the chrome bezel/shroud but that wouldn't be easy and you'd have to paint it afterwards. Just another option.

Believe me I really want to use the TL projectors too.
