I left work today and was heading home as usual. When all of the sudden this lady in front of me slams on her brakes out of no where, (from what she said she slammed on her brakes because the car in front of her slammed on her brakes). I hit her, and the car behind me hit me. I'm in the middle of all of this mess. The Lexus SOS advisor came on. She was very helpful, asked if I was okay and she sent the police out. They arrived in less than a minute and a half. I went to the ER, I am okay. I have lots of pain medicine. I was just about to hit 500miles on the odometer (496). I have almost had her for two weeks, on Friday. I should have taken better pictures, but my car is going to Park Place Bodywerks tomorrow morning via the tow truck to get inspected by Lexus. You can't see it very well but the right exhaust is pushed back about three feet. The radiator was hissing too. Very curious to see if it is considered totaled or not.

That defiantly looks bad, but a really good shop and you should have her fixed and running in no time at all. I've seen worse and they have been repaired.

airbags went off, there's a good chance it could be totaled.

I would push to get it totaled. I would rather want it total so you can get the money and buy a brand new car instead of driving around in a fixed up one.

It is also leased by Lexus Financial services. I'm sure that will mess up all of the resale of the vehicle, especially the depreciation, because this would be considered a "serious accident." Hopefully it gets totaled because it would be stupid for them to fix all of this, it will cost a lot too for all OEM parts.

On a side note, i have a Base 08 AWD IS250. I wonder if i have "Lexus SOS advisor" I have never heard of it till now. Interesting.

P.S. I hope this doesnt start the wrecks of IS's like that one month where about 12 of them got wrecked... in 1 month.

Damn that looks pretty crazy! Glad you are okay though. Not sure if its totaled or not seeing as its brand new, but hopefully they total it out. I wouldn't want that car back after being hit on both ends and having the airbags go off.

I think the SOS was only offered in 2010+ models.
You'll know if you have it as there will be an "SOS" button near the dome lights in the front

Glad your okay. May want to look into the '14 IS now; like the others said it does appear to be a total loss (frame damage + air bag deploy )

It's a total lost already... DAMN!! I can't get my eyes to read and see the pics for not even half minute.. really ! you didn't even have chance to enjoy the ride yet and this happened... sigh I'm glad u r ok tho!! remember bad things will ended up good in these cases.. keep us update man

Wow that looks like a pretty bad accident, sorry about the loss and glad your alright. bright side of things is you can either upgrade to a 2014 or possibly an new is350!

I don't think it's totaled, however from those pictures it looks like they towed your car with the front wheels lifted. If that's so I would bring that up with the insurance as this could cause transmission problems.

FYI, for those that don't know you should never tow an automatic transmission vehicle with its drive wheels rolling.
