my driver side is pretty easy... the fsport exhaust true side is passenger side so it took me about 1hr an half or so w/ scrubbing b/c of the carbon built up... i use dish washing scrub..(scrub that does not scratch metal).. I applied several time and each time you have to let it sit... carbon will come off..

15 minutes (for each side) with Chemical Guys Metal Polish + Protection, polished by hand with microfiber towel.

Ironic i pmed you about this the ither day. I actually had some mothers polish at the house and did the job great but ive had some custom welding done(my ap2 tips are welded to my tanabe exhaust, and there is some rust damage on the mufflers from it I was wondering what would be a good product to get rid of that rust?

It sounds like you are stating the tips were clean, but are getting the normal exhaust juice on them. For that, just wipe it off with a damp paper towel or rag once a week and you'll never need to use any of the products listed in this thread. Light, ongoing maintenance with ocassional car wax will keep them looking new.

I use the Mothers Polish for cleaning & shining and it works great.
I'll give it a go tomorrow since my tips are dirty and post before/after pics.

Bar keepers friend (BKF) is good for removing rust without hurting the stainless, you can make a paste out of it and let it sit for 20-30 min on the rust.
