i bought the blackberry device but the whine was too overwhelming so i bought the kensington noise reducing ground loop isolator - once the kensington device was installed i didn't notice any decline in sound quality. so, thus far i've been pretty content.

I have an iPhone 5. I've listened to a lot more music now, and I think I may have picked up on a slight sound quality reduction, but barely noticeable. I turned the bass up a little more in the settings. However I compared it to my wife's '10 RX with A2DP streaming built in, and my car still sounds better - as it should since I have the Mark Levinson system.

BTW - I never had the Aux fix done to my car.

What bugs me the most is the drop in sound level. Normally with a AUX cable I play music at sound lvl 20 but with the A2DP bluetooth device I have to crank it up to 30 to get the same results. I've been trying with the iPhone 4,4s, & 5 all yielding the same results so now I'm thinking that it's the bluetooth in my car that's having issues. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if it's expected to have a drop in sound level when streaming through bluetooth...

I did have the TSIB done for the AUX noise but I'm not sure how that would affect the bluetooth streaming.

Just to clarify - I've always had to turn the volume up higher when listening through the Aux cable in comparison to say listening to a CD. But I don't feel I've had to increase the volume even higher when using the A2DP device.

Default Update!

Ended up getting the aux input fixed at Lexus under warranty. Alternator whine is GONE and streaming wirelessly sounds GREAT!

I have a 2009 with about 32k miles. Warranty is just about to expire so I took it in and they fixed the aux issue, sun roof vibration issue, leaky water pump, and a couple recall items. I'm a happy camper again!
