Default cleaning dirty/muddy floormats

what is everyones technique to cleaning your dirty or muddy floormats? I'm trying to find the best way to clean them while not loosing any color. I was thinking of throwing them in the wash, but didnt know if that was overkill to keep them nice.

Beat them out, vacuum, then shampoo.

- Remove them from the vehicle
- Shake out any loose dirt
- Vacuum thoroughly
- Treat with some sort of carpet cleaner (I use Chemical Guys Fabric Clean)
- Allow cleaner to dwell for a few minutes
- If heavily soiled and/or stained, apply more cleaner and scrub with upholstery brush
- Extract dirty mats with hot water extractor (Look into getting one of these Bissel Little Green ProHeat Machines for extraction. They work great for cars and small spot cleaning around the house... well worth the small price tag)

From this:

To this:

In 5-10 minutes

and here is what the water looks like that I was pulling out of the mats

BTW - there is an entire Club Lexus forum devoted to cleaning/detailing... CHECK IT OUT HERE
