Lessons Learned? 2007 with 19,800 KMS
I bought my car brand new back in 07 and only drive it during the summer. It currently has 19,800 KMS. (Yes, I know it's extremely low mileage).
My car is a 250 AWD and was ultra luxury will all options back then- NAV, AFS, SAT, Keycard etc.
I've been reading up on the following:
1. NAV screen issue
2. Carbon build up problem
Since my car is still pretty "new" is there anything I should be doing to avoid either of these? (Carbon especially)
I've been reading up on this "catch can" fix. Should I do it? Does it work?
Anything else I should be aware of? BTW, I'm in Canada if that matters. I still have the original washer fluid in the car.. LOL.

Wow that's crazy man, I have a 2010 with just over 30,000 KMs. As far as carbon issues, I have none that I am aware of. What I will be doing to hopefully prevent the issue is 1) Drive it hard once in a while, 2) Seafoam or methonol clean from the intake port every 10,000 KMs just before I change the oil, 3) Always get my car up to operating temperatures and avoid short drives as much as possible.
The catch can idea sounds awesome but my car is still under warranty and it seems like a pain to remove everytime I bring my car in for servivce. Also I'm waiting to see some proof that it does indeed hinder or eliminate the carbon build up issue.

Thanks for the replies. I have two cars and dont drive far, so that's why my mileage is low.
I can't avoid short drives because I drive 8.6 kms to work each day. I'm most worried about the carbon build up.

I can only talk about carbon buildup issue: good gas and synthetic oil is what was recommended to me.
With your low mileage I would say change the oil once a year.
I use Mobil 1, 120k on my 07, dealer just did the top engine cleaning. I also use the Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubrication & Injector Cleaner once a month, maybe just a waste of money but it is a peace of mind. Enjoy it!
