Second part of my interior upgrade: Just finished installing these wine red leather seat covers. My IS350 is a Japanese Version S model, which is the sportier version with stiffer suspension and a couple of other changes over the other versions in the line-up, but as result had suede/alcantara seats instead of the leather like you get with the Version L model.
Admittedly, the suede material was nice, but I wanted something different, so rather than swapping in some half-worn factory leather seats I decided to go with some tailored-fit seat covers instead. As a result the fitment is very good, but I do need to wear the leather in a bit to get rid of any creases and high spots to fully contour it to the original shape of the seats.
All in all they look good, and it's one more thing to cross off the list.

I have bought some velcro strips from AliExpress yesterday with the intention of sticking them along the creases of the factory seat underneath, to really tuck the seat covers in against them more and take away any remaining sag. They fit well as it, but would look even better if they were tighter, so that should help.

Third part of my interior upgrade: Diamond stitched floor mats. These are a tailored fit and come in a number of different color options - Which made it difficult to decide which one to get, but I decided to go for quite neutral colored stitching to act as a nice contrast against the wine red seats.

The car probably depreciated 85% in price since new. The insurance company will total the car if it costs more than 50% of the car's worth to fix.
My 2007 IS350 was $46k new but now $5-6k even in excellent condition. If I get hit and it costs $2-3k to fix, they'll total it. Same logic as not putting a new $3000 engine in a 1998 Corolla worth $500.
But yeah sucks bro. Good luck.

Small update on the leather seat covers that I installed a few weeks ago, for anyone who is interested - They've settled in to the shape of the seats better now, and I put some Velcro strips along some of the edges yesterday to help contour them a bit more. It's not perfectly tight like a factory leather seat, and they may not be everybody's cup of tea, but for me personally I think they look great. And one random shot thrown in at the end for good measure
