Default Cam gear startup noise gone

Read a few posts about using Castrol Edge Titanium and the cam gear startup noise is now gone. I had mine replaced a few years ago and before my last oil change, I would constantly hear the cam gears when starting the car. I also changed to 5W20 as per the TSB for 2006 IS250s and IS350s.

Mine has usally only rattled upon start-up after sitting in the SC sun from 8-5. Especially when nearing the end of my oil change duration 7k miles (personal choice) using Mobil 5W-30, per the owners manual. I've not heard about the TSB for the oil change recommendation before.

I just changed my oil last weekend, and since I sit on a slight uphill slight if I've not heard it all this week in the 90s/100s...I'm happy.

Sweet. I am going to switch my oil brand to Castrol as well. I've heard it worked for quite a few owners on here.

Here is the TSB. Only applies to 2006.

Yes, you can get the oil at Walmart for $26 for the 5 quart and then 2 additional quarts. Total cost for the oil was about $40. Good luck.

Well, looks like I'll be getting 5W-20 from here on out then. LOL!
