I decided to get a 2013 IS a after I saw the 2014 since I really liked the current style of the car. IMO, i consider the 2013 IS model looks better than the 2014.
The only thing I do not like about the 2014 model is the front grill from a side view.

I think timeless designs rarely set the world on fire when they're first revealed. I remember seeing several reviews of the 2IS back in the day that derided the design for not being daring enough, or that it was bland. Compared to the competition back then, I think that was accurate, but it was only half the story. It's a beautiful, purposeful design that did everything it needed to without a wasted crease, curve, or line. It was then, and still does that now. It's a joy to look back at my car as I walk away. To quote Kate Walsh in a Cadillac ad from '08, "The real question is, when you turn your car on, does it return the favor?" For me, my Luther definitely does that for me, and will for many years to come.
Considering the number of 20+ year old Lexuses I still see on the road, the 2IS is far from over. Just last year, the IS250 managed to snag a decent 5th place in a Car and Driver comparison test among much newer rivals, and it was mainly the powertrain that kept it from placing higher. 8 years is an eternity in the new car market, and the 2IS's enduring success is a testament to a great design.
Hell, the IS F and IS C are still with us, so it can't be time for the curtain call yet! Cheers to the 2IS!

Was looking forward to 3IS, but wasn't amazed at all.
New Front grill is OK, rather neutral view to it.
Overall just prefer 2IS and enjoy the ride more.
Maybe partly nostalgia, but not planning to change in the near future.

The 2IS had an amazing run and there is no need to bash the 3IS to show its greatnesss. The 2IS pretty much hasn't aged and got constant updates to keep things fresh. IMO its one of the best looking sedans/cars of any era, proportions and design is on point.
Those in the market for a used 2IS can get a really awesome car at a great price. As we know the aftermarket was huge for the 2IS as well, giving people the option to modify it.
I'll never forget when this debuted. Where were you?
