Default Help on wheel selection - 06 IS250 AWD

First - I purchased my IS pre-owned from a dealership and the previous owner dropped it and added an aftermarket exhaust. How can I tell how low it has been dropped?

The ultimate reason I'm asking is I need new tires and want to get new rims at the same time. Was looking at going with 19s over the stock 17s that I have, but I don't want to have to do any other mods to correct for rubbing, etc.

Thanks for the help!

Best way to see how lowered you are is to park next to a stock IS. Or measure a stock IS from fender to ground then compare yours. Doing research will help alot. If you just want 19s. Get the same size and offset as the stock wheels. The 18s on my 1G1 are 18x8 and 18x8.5 I believe. It all depends what look you are after.

The stock AWD IS250 comes like an SUV, way higher than a regular RWD IS250. But basically if you have any gaps between your tire and fender, you should be pretty safe if you get 19s with a non-aggressive offset. If you're going for looks though, I "rolled" my rear fenders with a hammer and rolled and pulled my front ones with a baseball bat. Looks factory. It's really easy if you take your time and know what you're doing. Everything could be done in your garage... you would need a heat gun though.

Depending how low your car is and wanting to go with 19" wheels.

We need to make sure first off that the overall diameter is then same since it is a AWD car.

Second based on how low the car is and how wide of wheels your going for i highly recommend you rolling your fenders for your own peace of mind,.

What type of wheels are you looking into?

I was looking at the avant garde m310's. I have a wedding in less than a month and am in need of new tires, so I don't necessarily have time to roll the fenders prior to purchasing.

My current ground clearance is ~5.5" and from the tire to fender is about 1.25" - 1.5".

I've calculated if I get the 19s and a 225/35 tire, that will add about 1.1" to my current setup (225/45/R17). So based on this, I should be good right? Just making sure I'm not forgetting to think of something.

Thanks for all of the help and suggestions so far!
