Unhappy Lexus IS250 need help with code p0420 & B2799?

Hello Everyone,

I have a 2006 lexus IS250 awd with ~63,000. Today while driving the engine light turned on...went to auto zone got the codes p0420 & B2799. My questions:1).can P0420 trigger B2799? and 2).Does anyone know how to replace the oxygen sensors, as I read in other previous post that I can switch the passenger side 02 sensors with driver side to find out if the o2 sensors are gone. (i.e. instruction with pics will be very helpful as i am a newnoob for replacing the sensors). Already called the dealer if the cat converter is bad it's covered in the warranty however i m not sure about the oxygen sensors since they said i will have to take the car to them. One more thing for the past couple years i noticed engine misfire i.e. when coming to complete stop the car rpm drops and it starts to shake but engine light didn't show up so i never really payed attention to this. If anyone has any suggestion plz feel free to post. I just don't wanna go to dealer for something that might not be covered under the warranty as they charge 130$ per hours.

Sry for the long post.

Thank you for reading my post and your time in adv.

Sincerely,
yxis250

If I'm correct and you still under the emission warranty of 8yrs/100000 miles I think the dealer should replace the o2 for you. But If I was you look in your owner manual it will tell you or Lexus website. Cause it could be a bad cat which is also cover under emission warranty.

I'm afraid that you are not correct. The federal emissions warranty only covers most emission control parts for 2 years/24,000 miles. The longer 8 year/80,000 mile coverage only applies to the major components, more specifically, the catalytic converter, and the OBD and emission control ECUs. http://www.epa.gov/obd/pubs/420f09048.pdf

To address another of the original poster's questions, the B2799 code has to do with the communication between the smartkey and the car, and has nothing to do with the emissions issue.
