I've completed wrapping my front bumper and will tackle the rest of the car in the coming days. here are some pics of my DIY wrapped 2012 f-sport bumper. I will be starting a progress thread soon and will post lots of pics as I plan to install the LED headlamps and OEM turn signals too. Here are a few pics of my DIY wrap:

if you add it all up, yeah around 3k. material + labor + prep. hood, roof, trunk, are easy pieces to do they are large and flat and have no detail to it, but a door, you have to take out the handle (at least my place did), and put headlights and tail lights back together, and they are very thorough. depends where you go i guess.

Yeah, i had mine a year and looks pretty good. Just handwash with soap and water. and no wax products (with matte-not sure with other colors/finishes). really depends on how you take care of it. they told me usually 3 yrs. I wash my car once a week. I recently used this car product specifically designed for matte car wraps to help restore the matte finish and protect it. the company i use did it for me.

Vinyl wraps can protect your paint so when its time to resell you can just take it off and its good as new.
If you paint the car, you can't just remove it in a couple years if you want to change things up again. If you remove the vinyl within 3-4 years you can do it yourself with no damage to the vehicle. After 5 years the vinyl has basically molded to the clear coat and may pull it up.
Professional wrap will run you $2400 - $4k depending on the shop, level of install, and which vinyl you want to go with. Most of the wraps I've done have been $2800-$3400. The higher priced ones included door jams and/or was a more expensive material.

Just thought I'd chime in as I have wrapped my car a total of 4 times in the past 7 months. Being that I wrap cars... even if I crashed my car I would probably not repaint it. Vinyl is so awesome as it allows you to get creative without ruining the paint underneath and as most said... it serves as paint protection.
DO NOT DO PLASTI DIP, it looks cool but when you get up close it looks and feels like garbage! I had my full car plasti dipped for a week and I couldn't stand how crappy the texture was. Biggest waste of $850!! (yes I did pay a shop to do it)
I do vinyl wrapping as a hobby but when I do a customer's car I take everything off from door handles, mirrors, bumpers, lights, etc... most I'll ever charge a customer is $2k with 3M material and labor. OP... it'll be cheaper if you fly me out to your area and I wrap the car for you than if you take it to a shop and pay them $3k
I actually just unwrapped my car back to the original tungsten pear color 2 days ago and the paint was perfectly clean just like when I installed the lime green wrap
By the way "Ahmed" nice work on that pearl white bumper!

i havent seen much wrapped isx50's. It would look different, be cheaper than paint, dont have to wax, wash, etc. plus it will protect your finish from the elements.

I would wrap because it's temporary.. you never know if your opinions on the color are going to change and if you paint it then you are stuck with it really. It's cheaper to wrap and I feel like you have more options and it also gives the car a WOW factor. In fact, if you plan on keeping the car a long time then you should still be wrapping it to protect the paint for the next buyer/dealer. WRAP ALL THE WAY, ALL DAY
