Default oil leak

So I went in to get a regular oil change at a toyota dealer and the mechanic called me over to show me a leak that was around the front left corner of the car. Since my car only has 23k and is still under warranty I called the lexus dealer and scheduled an appointment to get it checked out. I just got done and the service guy told me that it was a front engine cover leak. Has anyone had this same issue? What caused it? Now I am worried what else can happen to this car down the road if already at 23k I am having engine leaks.

Thanks

When it was assembled by factory the gasket might have not seated properly and caused it to leak? Never heard or seen any issues with this commonly. Just pure luck.

Yeah, luck...bad luck. But yes, this is a known possible issue on the 2IS model. Glad my early '06 model year 350 hasn't seen such an issue because I hear it can be quite expensive to repair!

Is this the same possible issue as in the 06 models? I thought that was just a small seal or bearing?

^It is possible on any of the 2IS models. The leak stems from a bad seal from the front engine cover. Read about it about a handful on times on CL here.
