Check your manual or ask your dealer. you might have a different value since its so frigid over there. At least for me.. haha.
I would assume 0w-20 since its colder but thats just me assuming but check your manual yours should be CANADA specific or ask the dealer.

As far as brand there are tons and tons of articles about the best brand. bobtheoilguy.com has all the info you could possibly need and some. But the best and most expensive is AMSOIL. Royal Purple, Eneos those are great too. but Amsoil is still the best. Just google it!

I said 0w-20 because I have a 2012 and that is recommended for me, but each car is different. And 0w-30 is very hard to get.

The rule of thumb is thinner (lower viscosity) oil in the cold and thicker (higher viscosity) in the summer.
If its cold and you have thicker oil, its going to take longer to run through the engine especially during cold start up which is why you use thinner. And if its hot you need thicker oil because in heat the oil spreads thinner as the molecules are spread out more and thinner oil in heat spreads out to much defeating the purpose of lubricating the parts.

Yep

Motul RoyalPurple Lubromoly etc. etc. all good and have their pros and cons depending on driving style, OCI, climate, etc.

I just like Eneos because JAP oil for a JAP car

2006-2010 IS250: 5W30
2011-2013 IS250: 0W20
2006-2013 IS350: 5W30

I'll leave the type and brand discussion for someone else.
