Default Please help new car!

Hello everyone!
Soon i will be graduating college and i want to buy a new (used... but new to me) car. I have been driving a 1994 piece of crud all this time!

Since im just graduating, i do not have much money to buy a very good car. So i want to buy a car that will last a good 5 years.

Ive been thinking about buying a salvage 2013 Civic for 10k.

I saw a BEAUTIFUL 2008 Lexus IS 250 on Craigslist that has 72k miles on it. I may be able to snag it for 17.5k
Would this be a risky move? is 72k miles a lot for a lexus? would this last me 6 worry free years? (supposedly, the car has been well maintained. I think they have records)
I worry because 17.5 k dollars is a lot for me right now. Any advice? thanks!

That's too much for an IS250 in my opinion. I guess depends what part of the country you are in. I bought mine with 104K , and it's been trouble free. Im glad I bought it and still enjoy it everyday !!

Do NOT buy salvage.

You can buy 2008 is250 with about 50,000 miles for $15,000 all day from autotrader.com

test drive the car or better yet ... before u buy, get an inspection report done from Lexus dealership which will cost u around $200 but it's worth it...anything wrong they find with the car, have the owner fix it or deduct price.

this car will last u easily 5+ years....

good luck...

Thanks guys. I guess i should mention that i live in southern california. I looked on autotrader and prices dont seem to be getting much cheaper! thanks for the suggestion to take the car to get inspected by lexus themselves.
