Usually I leave mine on. I have AWD though so hard for me to really do much damage without it.
I doesn't have any impact in mileage.
It's on by default to keep you in the road, so unless your racing leave it on.

sounds counter-intuitive, but if the icon is off, then it's on (or waiting to be on)
if the icon is flashing, then it's actually working...
if the icon is on solid, then it's off until you restart the car. You get this by holding the trac off button for 5 seconds in a 2007 or later or doing the pedal dance in a 2006.
If you just press the trac off button but don't hold it, then trac will be off until you reach about 40 km/hr, then it becomes active again.

I leave mine on... I'm glad I did.
Almost got myself and family killed on the mountain roads. Went too fast for the twisties... in fact there were a double bank turns with 2 difference grades...I didn't see the second 90 degree turn...
Traction Control kicked in ... heard the double beep and fuel cut off to slow my car down....
I say KEEP IT ON... you are not smarter than the engineers who designed this car.
Just keep it off when you are drag racing or you REALLY know how to control this car.

Umm there is a huge difference when you are crossing a 55 mph intersection while its snowing and your car decides that you lost traction and it cuts off all the power. I will never drive with traction control on again in the winter months. Even if it means that I have to do the pedal dance every time I get in the car. I want to find a way to just eliminate it completely.
