Just want to give everyone a heads up that Asianboy will scam you. I supposedly bought a 2nd gen flyaudio unit from him and what I received was a metal box. Just giving everyone a heads up because I see that he posted more photos of items he probably does not have on photo bucket. I called paypal and will hopefully be getting my money back.

That sucks, have you gone through your CC company or through PayPal to get your money back, or do a charge back?

On a side note, now I see why this forum has so many checks and validations for sellers. I guess it's the younger demographic or something in here, as I've almost never experienced or seen people ripping each other off on the GT-R and Corvette forums I'm on. And that's usually always selling high dollar items.

Sorry to hear man. Most people here on CL are legit and nice people - but you always get those certain few who will join just to try and make a quick buck Hope paypal gets you your money back!

I was almost a victim as well, good thing i backed out last minute:

he said he had f-sport exhaust for sale, only used for TWO months..........when 20 days ago he post in my WTB thread that he's also looking for f-sport exhaust

this is his photobucket library with a couple exhausts...which i don't think ANY of those photos belong to him: http://s1297.photobucket.com/user/ke...?sort=3&page=1

this is his email: asianboyjames@yahoo.com

few days later...........

Gifting money paypal claims no part of. And yes if you send it regular paypal protects you. Gifting is kinda like sending money to a family member or transferring from your paypal to say a business account.

Exactly, why do you think PayPal takes a percentage of the payment....because they are offering a service and some protection for the buyer/seller.

If you give someone money as a 'GIFT', then you are saying that nothing was actually purchased. So PayPal doesn't take a cut of the money, and in return they don't offer any type of insurance.

I can't give you money as a gift, then file a complaint saying you never shipped me my product. PayPal will just look at the transaction type and say, well it's a gift, we don't see you purchasing anything. Hope that cleared it up...

You know I was thinking the same thing. I was wondering why he was selling and also looking for the items. But greed took over and I needed the item. I mean he would pass on a 2nd gen flyaudio for $350.
