Default What color should I powdercoat my wheels?

Last week, I got a great deal on a set of used Work VS-XX wheels. However, the wheels do not clear the front IS350 calipers so the only solution I know of would be to use a 15mm spacer and to replace the lip with one half an inch smaller so it's flush with the fender. Since I'll have the wheel apart, I plan to have it powdercoated. What color should I go for on my car? I was think either black chrome or Work's "Burning Black" color. Then yellow calipers/lugs or teal calipers/lugs.

Also, does anyone have a good tutorial on reassembling the wheels and what sealant to use? As well and what to do about the TPMS sensors? Thanks!

The wheels.

Car as of today.

I like the original color your paint color and your calipers. Burning black will not do the VS XX justice with an all out black color scheme.

My car used to be murdered out but I'm going back to a cleaner look. I'm getting my stock wheels refinished to the liquid graphite finish. Also, going for the 2012 headlights so in the end, my car really won't have a murdered out look anymore except for the dark tints.

my vote goes for black chrome. Black cars after you wash them give off a real nice shine and I think black chrome will compliment the car better with an overall shine apperance on the car and wheels.

IMO, rather than use spacers, you should trade up for a higher disk face that clears BBK i.e. mid disk, high disk etc. while you have it apart. There are many people that would want that face you have, even tho it does not clear BBK. Buring black also looks nice

I always loved black and gold but I would go with a chrome gold. A powdercoater around me did a friends wheel faces like 100 a face.

checkout CCW wheels website they have a good video on putting wheels back together. good luck. I think black slammed on some light colored wheels looks good. You can always have wheelflip do their "black chrome" finish on top of polished faces. That's what I almost did once but shipping killed it for me.

Color is so preferential, just go with what you desire!

As for reassembling... Vsxx torque spec is 19ft-lbs, go in a star pattern with the 44 bolts. Sealant, I'd have to look what I've used in the past. Tpms if they aren't drilled for them, you can use valve stem adapters that you can find online or eBay to mount them without drilling. That's what I'm using.

I recently redid my vsxx myself as well.

Adapters for reference:

i wouldn't necessarily go straight to 15mm. that is going to be a big jump and really push the wheel out. i would start with 5mm and work your way out. my wheels weren't clearing the 250 calipers and all i needed was a 5mm spacer.

My vote goes to the gold chrome. Gold on black definitely looks clean.
