IS250 Rear hub roaring
I'm new to this car and the forum so forgive my ignorance. It's a 2009 IS250 with 83000 miles. When I first got the car I noticed a low roaring sound but I figured it was probably the tires but later on I noticed a slight pulsing of the brakes when coming to a stop. I assumed I had warped rear rotors as the pulsation was not felt in the steering wheel. Upon inspecting it I noticed I had new pad and rotors so I figured cheap rotors that had to much rumour so I had them turned. It did indeed have a high spot but I'm still getting pulsations especially in the last 50 feet of a stop. I'm thinking the left rear maybe the culprit here being that it is roaring although when I took the rotor off I didn't notice any play. I did lube the caliper slides and they were alittle dry.
That's the back story, do you guys think my thoery is right about a possible bad hub? BTW when braking the shifter also vibrates at the same frequency as the brakes. If the rear hubs are the culprit can anybody give me some tips for replacing them? (special tools needed or anything) I'm poor so taking it to the dealership is out of the question.

Unfortunately the rear bearing can not be replaced, the whole hub assembly must be replaced. To be hoest with you, I've never been good at repacking bearings anyway, my shop teacher would always criticize me on that. Nevertheless a $130 hub must be replace to change out a $10 bearing.

Other than quality, is there any reason why the rear hub cost from $75 on eBay no name brand to $169 on rockauto for Timken to $229 on Sewell fspread? That seems like a big price spread.

Not sure if this applies to you but I had a similar problem with my fronts and thought it was a bad bearing. Ended up being cupped tires from the previous owner putting on nexens in the front with bad balancing. Check your local shop and check for cupping before you buy new hubs.
