Hey everyone,
I just did my 1st oil change after 9752 miles. (technically 2nd for the car since dealer did the 1st)
But after draining out all the oil, it has a strong smell of gasoline to it. I have never had that on any of my cars before. Is there something that I need to do or is that normal? Also I didn't seem to find this issue on the search...
Thanks for your help.

Definitely not normal. Just to clarify, was the gas smell under the hood in a general sense, or did the drain pan full of used oil smell like gas?
EDIT: I ask because gasoline is obviously not involved in an oil change in any way. I'm wondering if it is something is innocent as "oh yea, I emptied some old lawnmower gas into the drain pan xx months ago. The oil hitting it must've stirred it up, along with the smell."

But as I was draining the oil from my car you can tell the smell was definitely coming from the oil. Even the oil from the filter had that distinct gas smell to it.
I take back my first post, I did have my Civic Hybrid that uses the same 0w-20 weight oil that had that same distinct gas smell. I remembered because as I was recycling the oil at my Autozone they asked if I used gasoline and mixed it with the oil since it smelled like it. But after that change I never got that smell again.
SO I guess back to my question what could be causing this?
