I think its the high beam that's not working. The dealer "assures" me that won't even get ticketed if I get stopped by the cops, because the main light itself works.

Looks like it's been used pretty heavily - not sure what your standards are, but the scratches will be pricey paint fixes. Headlight can be a bulb or ballast problem.

Does the car have carbon issues (commonly associated with 250s)? How are the rest of the mechanical maintenance items (alternator, bushings, hubs, etc.)? Those are all accumulated costs if you'll need to repair them down the line.
I don't have info. about maintenance and mechanics. But I was going to get it inspected before I buy it. However, I wanted to check if it was ok to go ahead even with the broken light and scratch.

Maybe in other states, but not in CA. So far, this has been the cheapest I've seen.

Have you seen cheaper (but not salvage) ones in CA? I'll check them out.

Well, it's 15k now. They fixed the light and scratches, and will make the buyer pay for them.

If you know about same model cheaper cars, tell me where they are, and I'll go check them. (within 100 miles of LA, CA).

^You're probably right; in Cali they're probably more.

As a comparison, here's what I managed in April '11 with my '06 350. $20900 OTD, <31k on the clock, sport pkg with NAV. There was nothing in my area, so I knew I'd have to travel to get mine. Ended up flying into NJ and driving it back home to SC. Second farthest distance I've traveled to pick-up a car too!

That's a great price, and it's for an IS350. Mileage was low too. I can't travel that far. The only time I did travel to see a car, the guy ended up canceling after I got there. Anyways, my budget is much lower than yours. Plus, I don't know the stepa to register an out of state car. People tell me to be careful, coz getting it up to California specs might cost a lot.
