Loctite double sided tape for rear spoiler
I bought a rear trunk spoiler off ebay for $88 a month ago from Taiwan and I have been using 3m double sided tape from office max. Throughout the month, I have retaped the spoiler twice because it started to become loose after two weeks. I clean both surfaces with soap and rubbing alcohol before taping the spoiler. I also tried the 3m tape from O'reilly auto part but the stickyness of the tape was no where near as sticky as the one from office max. I searched through this forum and read some good things about loctite tape and I want to ask if it will damage the paint on the car. Also any insight of what I'm doing wrong with just 3m tape is appreciated.
Thanks

Adhesion promoter will be your best friend...

Apply the promoter as the final step before putting the spoiler on. Wait for a minute or two to let it dry.

The promoter does work wonders but you may only get one shot at placement because the bond is so strong. I used a series of small cardboard shims to peel then drop, peel then drop the spoiler into place. Then I peeled and pressed the vertical part in place. You can peel back and over about an inch on the ends of the tape to have a place to pull or even split the backing to have a grip in the middle.
