Default New here - bought 2010 Lexus IS 250

Hey ClubLexus,

I just recently joined this forum after the purchase of my very first vehicle, the Lexus IS 250. It is a 2010 model and as it's my first car, there's a lot I have yet to learn.

Any tips/tricks/pointers?

Ryan

Congrats on the new car. You might want to post this on the 2nd gen IS forum. You'll get more input from owners over there.

From everything I've seen the reliability of the IS250 has been rock solid.

By 2010, the carbon depsosit issue was addressed I believe with the new pistons.

Congrats!
Great choice, you will like the car a lot. The 2.5 motor is plenty good for every day normal driving and gets good mileage to boot. Lexus is taking care of the carbon buildup issue, so no worries there either. It's a solid car and has a large, happy customer base.

The IS250 is a perfect choice for most drivers looking for a reliable and snazzy commuter with some weekend pizzazz. Congrats on your purchase. And welcome aboard with your 1st post.

Welcome to the forum Ryan.... The IS250 is very reliable and not everyone has that Carbon build up issue, I've had mine for 2 years no issue n currently at 41k miles.

You did a good purchase Ryan and hope you enjoy every minute of the car, post pics and let the modding begin lol...you will learn a lot on this forum about the car and tips and tricks

To the OP, For tips on the IS250, please read up the stickies, FAQ, and DYI on this site. It contains a lot of useful tips that has been posted by veterans. Always do a search before posting a new question because they most likely have been answered before.

Welcome to CL

May I asked how much you pay for yours. I got my 2010 IS250 in April not certified from private party but one owner.

I went to longo lexus in socal el monte. but i probably visited like 2-3 other lexus dealerships in socal, I actually didnt plan on buying that night i went, and i think the sales guy knew i was ready to leave.

Sticker price was 32, but managed to get the price down to 28k, but with tax came about 31k. I think I paid a bit much, and I wish i waited till they sold the 2014 so price wouldve gone down a lot more, but now that ive had my car, its my baby =D.
