Future IS250 owner here, just have a few questions to ask. Based on the threads I read the only thing faulty with the IS is the carbon build up, and the issue with the piston ring, and some owners say the water pump gives out periodically other than that it's a great car. I have these two IS's in mind let me know what you think. One of them has a spoiler and is a premuim package. Let me know whick one should I be more inclined to buy. I'm looking foward to being a proud owner of a Lexus this weekend if everything turns out well.

It's a preference pick in my opinion. If you want a premium package go with the 06, If you don't then pick the 08. They both have the same exact mileage basically, but the 08 is driven more because of this, so take this into consideration as well. Also check if the cars have gotten all their recalls done, etc.

What's the easiest way of verifying this? Should I call my local lexus dealership with provided VIN?

I believe you can check it online using the VIN. I saw a post yesterday night, but I can't find it anymore. Someone posted a list of what recalls Lexus had performed on their car or a car they were looking to buy. Sorry I can't give you the link, but I was just scanning what was on the forums and came up on it.

You can look it up on drivers.lexus.com. You will need the vin. It will pull up the service history that was done by lexus.

My advice, if you haven't test driven an is350, do so before you buy an is250. The power of the is350 makes it a much more enjoyable car to drive.
