Default 2006-2009 Is250 or Is350?

I previously owned a 2006 gs300 red with black leather, but unfortunately lost her in an accident....
It was over 6 months ago and Im still missing her like it was yesterday, lol I cant quite afford another gs at the moment ( i want a gs350 or gs460) but Im in the market for a new used vehicle and I really want a lexus so i decided to go with an is model. I had one for a rental and it was a great car just not as many features as the gs but i can manage lol.

My question is what are some things i need to look for when buying the is model. I really want the rwd and black leather. exterior im more open. also i may be buying from out of state because most of the is models here are awd. any input is appreciated thanks. I saw some is models with over 200k which i like to see it lets me know the car is capable of running for a long time. id like to buy one with 100k or less

Are you choosing between a newer year IS250 versus a older IS350? or are you strictly looking at IS250 v IS350?.

I've owned a IS250 awd (first) and an IS350 rwd....
After having the IS350, I would never go back to the 250.

My IS250 I took to 135k miles and never put a dime into it besides basic maintenance... it was a great car, but sort of a dog. Miles got high enough to scare me into selling.... ended up finding a IS350 (used) with a lot less miles and this car *knock on wood* has been fantastic. I'm currently at 70k with this one, other than basic maintenance, it has been great.

MPGs are better with the 350 (it isn't AWD though), much much much more fun to drive, and as long as things go to plan, I should be able to take this one to 130-150k miles too.

I recommend the IS350.

FWIW pricing sake:
The IS350 I picked up was:
2006 IS350 - 62k miles - nav, back cam, ML sound, heated cooled seats, parking sensors, etc etc - LOADED.
Also had stock rims with snow tires and a set of 19" rims and summer tires, 3 sets of Lexus floor mats, all the maintenance records, and was in flawless shape.... price OTD was 17k

Yes, like previously mentioned, the is350 will get better gas mileage and will be loads of more fun. I've owned both cars as well and will never go back to the is250. The engine is way too underpowered for this car. For the year you're looking (06-08), the price difference between an is250 and is350 will be very minimal, if any at all. Don't make the mistake of getting an is250.
