It is my understanding that Lexus made the hack worthless about 2009. It only masks that the vehicle is moving for a few seconds at a time, making it worthless. I agree there should be a fix.

I myself have been doing some research on this. Vaistech offers up to the 6th gen. Which overrides the locks. As to how well or long it lasts im not sure. Ill be shorty testing and hoping the vaistech works as there havent been any tests done on the 13' is350.

I have been wanting to use my navigation while driving, is it possible on a 06 IS250?

model year 2010 and up 2IS's and IS-Fs do not have a cut-and-splice or even a software work around due to a re-design (including the fact that the GPS navigation is now HDD based, not DVD-based).

you'll have to get an override module from Prestigious Society or BeatSonic and specify what model year you're going to use it for (lest you pick up the model for the wrong model years).

yes - if you've never updated the navigation DVD (later versions disabled this).

btw, you could have found this had you looked (bothered to look) through the 2IS FAQ and DIY thread that's been stickied at the top of this forum section.

BeatSonic: Product Search Results

Prestigious Society: Product Page (look for your model year, make and model)

as far as difficulty of installation, hardest part is to remove the navigation unit. note that only steps 1-6 in the ref'd link apply to remove the navigation unit; installation for either nav bypass modules vary by offering and will not need cutting or splicing - both are plug and play.

note that both may be offered in the Club Lexus Vendor Marketplace by forum sponsors, so prices may vary. you can also check the Classified Section, since these modules work for more than one Lexus model.
