Isn"t all 2011 IS350 recall for gear cam ?
I' m confuse
Since you have a 2011 it came from the factory with the newer cam gears (At least thats what it sounds like to me). If the dealer said you don't fall in the VIN range, you are all good my friend

So my baby is at the dealership getting the business. Got a 2012 IS250 loaner with the god-awful biege interior (sorry guys/gals, partial to black leather and trim). Will report back on anything they did or didn't do right. They said they'll call me later today when completed.

Does anyone have any issues with Lexus of Portland besides me? They keep on saying they don't have the parts...?

Got my car back yesterday evening. They informed me that my water pump was leaking which I had a feeling that it was. They also broke the seat adjustment **** off on the driver seat. They fixed it on the spot when I inspected the car and discovered it. Other than that, car feels normal and so far no cam gear rattle.

Really? I called them yesterday (24th) and they told me they had the parts (I specifically asked because about a month ago they said they didn't for the TSB). She scheduled me to drop the IS350 off this Monday.
This is my first time using Lexus Portland (previsouly was in a FX35 and used Beaverton Infiniti).

My car is still sitting at the dealership right now; had thought I'd had received a call saying it was done by now. But anyways, I told the service mgr I'd be back today after work for it. Crossing-fingers all is well with it.

Got mine done when bringing the car in for oil change. And a loaner car for 2 days. I did get a full tank of gas though. Too bad, I had more than half tank full when bringing it in. If I knew earlier that they had the parts in, I would bring the car in with almost empty.

I have exactly the same problem. I started seeing it when the car was less than 50K/4 yr and still under warranty. It is now 70K and the camera would go bad from time to time.

My guess is that the camera have loose connection. Oh well, I could never re-produce the sympton to show dealer. Video was captured on iphone but they could not find anything wrong with it.

Got my car back this evening. Quickly walked around the car and all seems to be well with the body. Checked under the hood and immediately notice the battery terminal covers still undone AND the engine cover itself with greasy finger prints all over it. Oh well, nothing a simple cleaning won't fix; off I go heading home. After my stint on the HWY, I stopped at the first stoplight and started to see smoke pouring out from between the fender/hood AND smelled burning oil/sealant. Sloppy uninstalling of the valve covers I guess dropped oil all over the place on both sides of the engine bay down onto various connectors/wire looms, and the steering boots. Meh, the wife calls me picky...but should someone really have to deal with SMOKE coming from their engine bay? Grrrrr!

Mechanically, the car is fine; surprisingly, even the initial startup sounds differently due to the new gears. I will definitely create a new thread if the "cam rattle" comes back.

@1stGenIS I'm taking it to get some recall work done tomorrow and my car still has a warranty maybe they'll be able to do something for me. If not I might take you up on the offer; I'm just not fully sure if it's the camera or something else right now.

Alright bro, hopefully they fix it under warranty, if not let me know. Good luck.
