Default Free gas from dealer

So I took my car into service yesterday for a 35K service and a wiper arm recall. When I got my car back, my tank was full. I thought that was unusual, so I looked at my receipt. There is a line item stating "gasoline - warranty". Does anyone know what this is about?? Can't complain about a free tank. I think I had a third of a tank left...

Lexus will cover the cost of topping off your gas tank when performing a recall...that is why I only do one recall per visit

all service campaigns are given a free wash and fill
so if you dont want the wash, make sure to let your adviser know

The free gas is nice, but I highly recommend you don't let them wash it...

I put 4 of these all around my car just to be safe

Not EVERY Lexus dealer offers the free gas with recalls. This is dealer specific. Each dealer has their own perks, you can gather comments on local dealers from a site like yelp (I am sure there are better sites) to determine who has the perks you want. I have two local dealers. One offers an Enterprise rental car for $15 if your car is in for repairs. The other offers an onsite new Lexus vehicle as a loaner at no charge. Guess where I will be going when I eventually need a loaner during repairs.

yea. I love how when i went for a recall to the Dealership in Kansas City & i got a $26 GC to Quik Trip and I ranted on here. Everyone thought i was a douche and were saying **** like "Why were you expecting free gas" and "Thats not true" because i thought it was a full free tank but wasnt.

To all of you people who said things like that; I stick my middle finger at you.

I didn't get my gas tank filled when I went in for a couple of recalls. I might try another dealership then.

Wish I realized this when I just had the wiper recall done--I would have handed it over to them on fumes.
