So you showed a pic of a diagram and you claim trams filter. Look closely even that diagram doesn't have a filter in it. Unless you saw with your own eyes you got ripped off on that charged. Most like they probly changed your oil filter. If your that confident go to a Lexus tech he'll set you straight.
Hi , look at part #5
I have a bmw trans filter that I will be changing and it looks exactly the same.
I will ask once I have time to leave my car there am very confused now... thanks

see 5,
There seems to be some misinformation that may be confusing the issue a bit here. There is a drain plug, the pan can be removed, and there is a filter, those who are stating differently are incorrect. That being said, and this is the important part, it is not necessary to service the transmission as routine maintenance. You should never drain it or open the pan, doing so would only give you access to about 20-25% of the fluid. Changing that amount of fluid has no benefit and the downside would be opening the transmission to outside contamination. . It is also difficult to get the transmission topped off correctly through the filler plug, it requires the temperature be at a specific range, and the transmission then shifted through the gears to allow the fluid to circulate before being topped off again. It is also extremely important to use the correct fluid, not doing so would surely lead to premature failure. The only way to correctly change all the fluid would be to have it cycled in through the transmission lines with a special piece of equipment that also forces the old fluid out. Some dealers perform this service now, but Lexus does not require it, since the transmission was designed not to be serviced...hope this helps
