Safety Recall Actuator Gear

Make sure that when you take your vehicle in for this recall/service take a picture of your engine before bringing it in and when you go to pick up your vehicle pop the hood and inspect everything in the engine bay.
The reason why I stress this is because when I had the recall done to my vehicle, they broke my silver engine cover and tried to glue back together. No one notified me when I went to pick up my vehicle, which I think is BS.

g2bme: Someone said its cheaper to do the spark plugs with the recall bc they will have easier access or something? Im at 50k & if its needed at 60k then it might be cheaper to do it now or should i wait?

I recently did my 60K piece by piece. I changed my own oil, changed the cabin filter, and went to a ship that did my brake fluid flush. Bought all my parts from L-Tuned here in So Cal (similar prices like Sewell or cheaper, and it's local!) I'm at 65K and I was planning to do my spark change in a month or so, which would be like 70K or so (i drive a lot). Luckily, I'm going to get my cam gears fixed because of the recall and the TSB that went out for the 250's way back. I asked the dealer if i provided my spark plugs, can they change it for me and how much....I got quoted from the lexus service center 147 since they'll be working on the engine already. I checked around - from trusted local Toyota shops to a shop I've been to in which the owner was a Matertech that worked for Lexus for 10+ years. The outside shops wanted to charge me around 270+ for the labor. So i've decided to go through the dealer rather than pay 200+ down the road. Plus it saves me time since it's all done in one shop, plus under the Lexus service center. Hope this helps!
here's a link to a guy that did his 60K an you can see the prices for doing it yourself, or going OUTSIDE of the dealer.

Just found out all that's needed for parts are:
1) 6 spark plugs (~14 bucks each)
2) 3 intake gaskets (~5 bucks each)
