"Inlet Air Cleaner" missing??
Hello everyone,
I purchased a used 2008 IS350 from a Toyota dealership last year that was still under original factory warranty at the time and I had no trouble with the car since I got it.
But I took my car to the lexus dealership yesterday to have a few recalls taken care of and they called me back and told me that the "No. 1 Inlet Air Cleaner" is missing from my car.
Can somebody tell me what that is? I'm assuming it isn't really that big of a deal since the service guy didn't make a big deal out of it. He wanted to charge $165.24 to have it replaced. I was wondering if it's something simple that I can just do myself. Couldn't find anything online about it.
Thanks

He's talking about the intake snorkel that connects to the intake box and leads all the way up right above the radiator towards the front of the car so that your intake can suck in cooler air/ram air effect.
the price with club lexus discount is $84.99 (not including shipping) on www.sewellparts.com
But this is something that you can do yourself, 5 minute job, 1 screw and 1 push clip.
you don't necessarily need it, but without it, your engine will be sucking in hot air and in turn i'm assuming some loss of power

Thank you very much for the instructions. I really appreciate it. If possible can you list the part number of the part that I need? I tried searching all three numbers in the first picture. The top 2 numbers in the black diagram is for the screws and the third number showed a bunch of stuff but none for the is350.
