Viper 5704 Remote starter shutting the engine off on tapping brake
Hello everyone,
I have read several comments regarding remote starter and interface module. I recently got viper 5704V installed on 2008 IS250 AWD at local Bestbuy(which i regret) using Omega OL-MDB-ALL interface module . They installed the thing and remote starter is working fine except that it shuts off when brake was tapped. This is really becoming so much inconvenient after spending so much money on the whole remote starter and installation. Not just the money but my concern here is every time i remote start i end up cranking the engine twice and this wears out the parts involved in the start cycle.
Is there a specific interface module that i have to use to correct this problem? Guys your advice is really appreciated. It would be helpful even if someone can point me to an interface module that worked on your car.

Thanks for the fast response. Once i tap the start button. The engine just shuts off. This happens with/without taping the brake.

That seems pretty weird if he has to tap start button not once but twice after engine is already started with remote start, you should be able to press the brake and out into gear. Take it back to best buy and yes big mistake for taking it there for this kind of job. Good luck.

the first tap = put steering wheel and memory seats into drive position (kind of like putting car in ACC mode)
second tap = connects everything (kind of like starting the car after ACC mode)

The process of pressing the Start button depends on the mobilizer bypass that's installed. The press the button twice process has to do with the car needs to be in the ON position like the normal keys has to be in the ON position if you remote start a car that uses regular keys.
The bypass I have installed doesn't need to press the button (pressing it will turn if off). OP, how long do you wait until you press the brake after unlocking the car? Try unlock the car, then immediately go inside the car and press the brake -- does the car still turn off?

The brake pedal NEEDS to shut the engine OFF, that is correct or else ANYONE can get into you car while remote started and drive off for as long as they don't shut off the car. Brake pedal shut off is a safety feature and it would be stupid to disable it. Your car SHOULD require two taps of the start/stop button like turning a key to ACC and then to the ON position and SHOULD shut off when the brake pedal is depressed anytime before the ON position (meaning before you initialize the chip key to the car).

I tried tapping the start button and got tired of it as it would just shut of the engine for the first tap itself.

can someone please advise me on which interface modules actually worked on this particular lexus? People at best buy tried Xpresskit DBALL but the manual itself clearly says that takeover is not supported yet on the push-to-start models. So no luck there. I was wondering the older PKALL or something might have supported. I'm some here in the forums would know the specific modules that support PTS takeover without shutting the engine down.

I assume bestbuy doesn't issue a refund for something like this. So have to deal with them and if they can't figure it out..I guess i'm kinda stuck with this. Anyways Thanks everyone. i should wait till tomorrow to have them take a look at it.
