Cool Carbon fiber hood - re-clear needed?

Hi guys! I'm getting a. Carbon fiber hood from carbon creations and from a few members that have had their cf products in the past , they all said it was good quality. The hood comes with a clear coat and I'm just wondering if I should get it cleared again for extra protection against UV, or would that be an overkill? How is the clear coat quality from cf manufacturers? I know it can't hurt to get extra protection to prevent it from yellowing , but I'm low on cash so if it's not absolutely necessary then I'd rather spend the clear coat money on other mods anyone has any inputs would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!!!!
Jess

I cleared mine, but I don't believe Seibon clears theirs, it's just the bare epoxy/resin. If they say you're comes cleared you can always run it like that and get it cleared later. It won't yellow over night after all.

Thanks for chiming in! But if it yellows then wouldn't it be too late to get it cleared at that point? I'm fairly new to mods and certainly never had cf products in the past

Btw I searched online for yellowed cf pics and it was really hard to tell .. If anyone has better pics showing the difference that would be great too

^ I would have it buffed, recleared and buffed again to make it look like glass. Just to play it safe too haha

I did not have extra clear coat applied. I put it on the day the box showed up in my driveway.

Using a compound to remove scratches or swirls in the clear coat. Could be done by hand but preferably by a buffer.

But I wouldn't worry too much if it was originally clear coated already.
