Default Does anyone have 305/30/19 tires on their IS?

Looking to widen my Work VS-XX rear wheels and wanted to go as wide as possible. I was planning to go 19x10.5, 19x11 preferably, or 19x11.5 if that's even possible. My front tires are Nitto Invo and I want that for the rear but the size I wanted, 295/30/19 isn't available from any sellers so my options are 285/30/19 or 305/30/19. Anyone run 305's in the rears?

ive seen 19x11.5 on the rear of an ISF so i know its possible. what type suspension setup you running and how low are you? because a 305 is wide as hell and im sure not necessary even on a 11.5

It all about your offset. Unless your running 50+ offset.

I'm trying to get the widest tire possible without it looking too beefy. Not really interested in having a wide wheel and stretched tires. Right now, my rear is 19x8.5 with 245/35/19 P-Zero tires that came with it but they're made in 07 so the tires are a bit old. Figured might as well widen the wheel since I need new tires. This is how my car sat over the last summer. Still the same height.

Might toss in a 10 or 15mm spacer while I'm at it.

so when you say you want to widen your Works do you want just a wider wheel(new inner barrel) or wider and lower offset(new outer barrel)? because now that i see pics with being that low, i think you would be better off going 19x10.5 or 19x11 and just going with a 265/30. because after those sizes tires really jump in price. 265/30 is still almost barely any stretch on a 10.5, its still kind of nice on a 11 too

Let me put it this way for every inch you add to the outside you -12mm from the original offset. So 19x8.5 with +40 add 2" +40 -22= +18 your new offset. There for run 305 isn't gonna work unless you wanna widen your rear quarters.

Agreed x2

because going wider is gonna drop the offset dramatically. to fit then youll need more pull, stretch, and camber. especially with as low as you currently are

I'm just doing the inner barrels. Got a good price on replacement inner barrels for only $250 for the pair so might as well do it. My inner barrels are only 6 inches and I want to replace them with an 8 inch or bigger inner barrel. That and a spacer. The outer lip will still be 2.5. The current offset is 32. So with two inches added to the back side of the wheel and a 15mm spacer, I honestly have no clue what the offset becomes. The tires are $100 more for the pair but I don't mind it for the looks. I took a quick measure of the space between the inside lip of my wheel and my coils and there's about 3 inches of space.

oh well if youre just changing the inners and widening, then the offset will stay the same. just make sure it doesnt in the suspension on the inner side. are you going to do the fronts as well? because you dont want it to look like a steam roller

I'm basically just widening the inner lip so my offset will go up. Trying to see if there's good enough space to fit a 305 tire without it touching my coilovers or touching the fenders at my current height and with the right offset. I will be rolling them in the spring though.

Wrong changing the inner barrel doesn't change offset. Why? Cause the face still sit in the same position. Reason the outer lip changes offset cause it poke out toward the fender there fore making it aggressive. If you take away from the outer it makes it less aggressive. My friend isf runs 295-25-20 on 20x11.5 cause he running +55 offset.

Hmm, I thought wheel offset was the distance between the centerline of the wheel to the mounting surface? Because if the wheel width goes from 8.5 to 11.5, then the center line changes and the distance between the centerline and the mounting surface becomes more?

I did a search and someone said for every inch added to the inner barrel, it's 12.7mm more. So I did some math and the new offset becomes +58mm if I add two inches.

So would 19x11 wheel and 305/30/19 tires with an offset around 45-60mm work?

I use that link edit it does change the offset but it isn't the same as buying it with the rite offset. You can try but that a chance you take to see if it fits. Camber kit is a needed I'm sure.

My buddy is running a 305/30/20 on his IS350. He widened the rear quarter panels to fit his 12" wife wheel. If say just go with a 275 or 285.
