Question No Heating, but all works. Blows cold air + temp goes high on Idle

Hi experienced Lexus owners,
I am new here, just bought 2010 IS250 RWD with 34K on it from dealer.
Arriving home found that AC is not operating properly: When turning on Heat temp even to High, tried Auto also, turned AC button on/off, ...after driving even all day it blows cold air.
And also found that engine temp. goes higher, almost reaches red lines when the car is on Idle (engine is on, car not moving).
So, added some coolant. Tried again.... still nothing. Next day added some more coolant (antifreeze) as it needed. Guessing there might be Leak of antifreeze. Even so, could it cause heating problem?
Please advise or help to newbie, guys?!

No antifreeze = no heat = no cooling of engine = blown head gaskets fried engine if you don't get it fixed right away, take it back to dealer right away. Call them right away and than head back ASAP.

Thanks for reply even it's scary...
Do you think it's so serious problem? And how much will it cost me around to fix?
Can the lexus factory warranty help? As its still under warranty?
And Ive financed this car, is it possible at all to return it to dealer after signing tons of papers?

Could possibly be a thermostat or water pump issue.

If you just bought it they might take car of it, just tell them it happened on the way home like you said.

As your statement, dealer should cover it.

Are you sure your car sold as is not CPO?
I was thought 2010 34k should be under warranty. Event if you out of warranty a bit, they should help you out.
In worse case, contact lexus cooperation and ask for their help.

something like that should definitely be covered under warranty if you bought it cpo from a Lexus dealer. Even if you didn't buy from Lexus, it should be covered under the original warranty. The car only has 34K on it!

I'd tow it to a Lexus dealer pronto!

Call the dealer before you try to fix anything yourself.

is the "dealer" you bought it from not a lexus dealer? Lexus factory warranty should cover this (provided it is still under waranty) regardless of what the dealer says, unless the car was rebuilt from salvage or something.
